The Dog Scene at Matilda Bay Reserve, Nedlands, Perth

It’s been a while since I have done a Dog Scene write-up but last week I decided to go out and continue my quest to photograph dogs and owners at a dog friendly area somewhere around Perth.

The day was gorgeous, one of those beautiful Perth winter days where you kind of forget that it’s winter. My lovely husband and I, as well as our little pooch, Henry, headed to Matilda Bay, Crawley to enjoy a coffee at Bayside Kitchen just opposite UWA, and to take a walk along the river front, from Matilda Bay to JoJo’s in Nedlands.

As we started on our walk, I grabbed my camera from the car and we set off on our walk. This area is perfect to walk your dog and if you walk far enough pass the yacht club through Matilda Bay Reserve, you then reach a large open park area (JH Abrahams Reserve) where you can let your dog off leash. There is a playground, trees and sitting areas all along the river front. Unfortunately, while we were there repairs are taking place on the path that runs along the river. Instead of the path you can easily walk on the grass with no problem at all. Further along there is JoJo’s Café/Restaurant where we finished our walk. You can walk even further along the river front through to Charles Court Reserve and beyond if you are after a long walk, and it’s all dog friendly! Here are a few photos of the people we came across who were enjoying the day as well with their pooch or pooches!
